How do you classify a character's dancing requirements?
To help actors understand the dance skills needed for a role, StageAgent uses three labels to classify a character’s dancing level:
Dancer:
Requires technical knowledge of dance and may need specialized skills such as tumbling, acrobatics, or advanced choreography.
Mover:
Requires some knowledge of dance or the ability to quickly learn choreography. This role typically involves more than basic movement but doesn’t demand advanced technique.
Non-Dancer:
Involves basic staging and movement during musical numbers but does not require formal dance skills. Examples include chorus roles in operas or productions with minimal dance.
These classifications help you assess whether a role matches your dance abilities or if additional training might be needed.
